USAID/WASH/DCHA/DRG Qualified Regional and Local Organizations supporting democratic development worldwide

The United States Agency for International Development USAID/WASH Center of Excellence on Democracy, Human Rights and Governance (DRG) in the Bureau for Democracy, Conflict and Humanitarian Assistance (DCHA) provides USAID and other development practitioners with technical and intellectual leadership

and implementing mechanisms to support democratic development around the world.

USAID/WASH/DCHA/DRG is issuing a Request for Information (RFI) to assess existing regional and local (indigenous) organizations that have the capacity and proven track record to provide an array of services encompassing short- and long-term technical assistance and other support designed to strengthen democratic elections, political competition and consensus-building at national, sub-national and local levels.

As part of this RFI, USAID/WASH/DCHA/DRG is requesting information from qualified regional and local organizations as follows:
1) Capacity and past performance to provide technical assistance and support that strengthen constituencies for electoral democracy and reform; 2) Increase participation, leadership and political empowerment of women, and other marginalized groups; 3) Improve national and subnational governance by elected leaders; 4) Enhance representative and competitive multi-party systems in developing countries, often under short notice.

Organizations are encouraged to highlight existing and/or potential associations, consortiums and partnerships, as well as regional and global expertise and presence.

Please do not submit Applications or resumes as they will be discarded.

Submissions will not be acknowledged.

USAID may use any information provided without incurring any obligation.

Information provided in response to this solicitation must be received in writing, telephone calls and hand-carry will not be accepted.

This announcement is a Request for Information (RFI), not a Request for Applications (RFA) and is not to be construed as a commitment by the U. S. Government to issue ay solicitation or ultimately award a grant on the basis of this RFI, or to pay for any information submitted as a result of this request.

If a solicitation is released it will be synopsized in www.grants.gov.

It is the potential applicant's responsibility to monitor the site for the release of any solicitation or synopsis.

It should be noted that responding to this RFI will not give any advantage to any organization in any subsequent procurement.

USAID/WASH/DCHA/DRG will not provide answers to any question submitted in response to this request.

Responses will be held confidential.

Proprietary information should not be sent.
