HdG Opera House Project Secures $250,000 State Grant for Renovation

The Havre de Grace (HdG) Office of Economic Development appealed to Maryland officials for funding of the renovation of the Union Avenue Opera House.


The grant request was approved and $250,000 has been given to the HdG to foster arts and entertainment culture in the district. The historic opera building does not meet requirements for the Americans with Disabilities Act so its uses are limited.
