Revitalization of Public Parking Lot Put Off Due to Delayed State Grants
A long-approved $400,000 Brownfield grant to rehabilitate a former North End of Middletown gas station has been temporarily put off until one of Connecticut's regional planning agencies approves it.
For a temporary renovation, the city's parking authority generally razed over the lot with signs and parking meters set up. The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection unearthed an amount of gasoline in the soil and groundwater.
