Carol Stream to Purchase Fourth House

The Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity has given a state grant to the Carol Stream in the amount of $304,851. The funds given will be used to purchase a fourth house in the flood-prone neighborhood south of Armstrong Park as part of a voluntary buyout program. Assuming the homeowner formally accepts the purchase offer, the village will then take ownership of the property and be responsible for demolition of the house.
