Joliet Park District Will Purchase 108 Acres of Land

The Department of Natural Resources in Illinois have awarded the Joliet Park District with the Open Space Land Acquisition and Development grant worth $542,000.
The grant money will be used to purchase a 108 acres land in the Kendall county portion. According to the superintendent of Pilcher Park Nature Center, Debbie Greene, the land was orginally planned to be turned into an environmentally friendly subdivision.
